The reference photograph will be sent via email to avoid losing quality. It is very important that the photograph has a minimum quality, so that the features of both the person and the animal are clearly visible for greater accuracy.
A small note: Sometimes, if the platform allows it, it's not necessary for the people to be in the same photo; you can send several and then make a collage to put everyone together in one.
What is the process to arrive at your idea? [+]
My way of working is as follows:
My art is mixed media, what does that mean? Well, it means I use traditional techniques along with digital ones. The drawing is based on traditional pencil and watercolor, then I scan it and continue working with the graphics tablet to give the portrait greater realism. Why is it done this way? Because it allows me to work faster and makes the commission more economical.
Commissions, once the idea is clear and the budget is agreed upon, are paid in advance. Sometimes, if it's a very complex project, payment can be made in installments. Because when I started out as an illustrator, I would begin by completing the work first, and once it was finished, I never heard from the client again, thus losing time and money. To prevent this situation...
Finally, please note that before sending the physical image, I will send the portrait digitally in case any changes are needed. Simple changes are free of charge, but for three or more changes, or if they are complex, there will be a €5 fee per modification.
